Hello. My name is Tricia Wood. (OK, I was just being funny there!) I love dancing- teaching, performing, competing, owning a studio, the whole works! I love promoting dance- all over the Twin Cities!
I figure that if I'm going to spend time receiving and reading what's going on in the dance community each weekend, then I might as well share with everyone my wealth of information! I've been sending out "Tricia's Weekly Dance Email" a/k/a the dance bible, for several years now. To keep my email inbox manageable, I decided to design my TriciaDancer website in addition to! As of July 2008, my Husband and Professional dance partner, James Wood and I are proud owners of the new Tropical Ballroom in Woodbury, MN providing Ballroom, Latin, Swing, and Country private dance lessons, group classes, dance parties, dance shoes, and private parties! My previous dance experience includes ballet, tap, jazz, Hawaiian, clogging, and line dancing, then followed by Country, Swing, Salsa, Latin and Ballroom. Today, I do over 30 styles of couples dances!
I grew up in Bloomington, then went to college at MN State University- Mankato, then worked days as a Staffing Consultant for Express Personnel Services at their Edina, Eagan, and then Woodbury locations - which lead me to buying a home in Woodbury, ...and I taught dance evenings and weekends. Wanting to be around dance (and James) full time, I became the Administrator for a dance studio in St. Louis Park -for two years. Now, still happily living in Woodbury, James and I decided to open up a ballroom near our home in Woodbury to share our love of dance with even more people!
